16 September 2026 Our next event is a talk by Professor Jorge L. Contreras, Distinguished University Professor, the James T. Jensen Endowed Professor for Transactional Law and Director of the Program on Intellectual Property and Technology Law at the University of Utah, USA. 

The talk is entitled: "Open Source Seeds: Historical and Developing Legal Strategies"

In this session, Prof. Jorge Contreras will describe both the history and recent developments in public seed banking and distribution, including the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI) and the recent NFARM Share-Alike Material Transfer Agreement.

11 February 2026 For the first event of the Future Leaders Fellowship, we were delighted to host the project co-lead, Dr Susannah Chapman (University College Cork). She delivered a lecture on the topic, "Re-imagining (Re)production in Intellectual Property Law: New frontiers in the branding and making of botanical kinds." The recording is available on YouTube.
